Description of key information

NOELR(14d, growth rate) < 100 mg/L (nominal, loading rate) (OECD 204, Gobiocypris rarus). Measured concentration of Al, V, and Mg were 1.74 mg/L, 0.588 mg/L, and 15.3 mg/L

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

One study is available on the long-term toxicity of Aluminium magnesium vanadium oxide to fish. This key study was conducted as a semi-static limit test according to OECD Guideline 204 and Chinese GLP (2013). The test organism Gobiocypris rarus was exposed to a filtered test item solution of nominal 100 mg/L (loading rate) for 14 days. No mortality occurred during the study, but a significant difference in specific growth rate was observed between the control and the treatment group. The average recoveries of Al spiked 0.0200 mg/L and 0.160 mg/L samples were 117% and 103% with RSDs of 7.32% and 2.35%, respectively. The average recoveries of V spiked 0.0200 mg/L and 0.160 mg/L sample were 101% with RSDs of 1.24% and 1.13%, respectively. The average recoveries of Mg spiked 15 mg/L and 30 mg/L sample were 84.9% and 83.6% with RSDs of 1.04% and 0.77%, respectively. The NOELR based on mortality was determined to be 100 mg/L. For growth inhibition, the NOELR is below 100 mg/L. This corresponds to geometrich mean measured concentrations of Al, V and Mg of 1.74, 0.588, and 15.3 mg/L, respectively
