The acute toxicities of 3
representative aquatic species are tested, therefore PNEC in freshwater
compartment and marine compartment can be derived by assessment factors.
PNECs in marine compartment, sediment of fresh water and sediment of
marine water will be extrapolated by PNEC in freshwater compartment.
The PNEC soil is based on the result for the long-term toxicity test of
BDP to the terrestrial plant.
The acute toxicity of BDP to
the most sensitive species fish (Rainbow Trout )acute toxicity
study EC50(96hr): >0.17 mg/l. >0.17 mg/l is equivalent to =>
100 mg/l due to the low water solubility of the test substance BDP. So
no acute toxicity is recorded at levels up to the water solubility. The
substance is not rapidly degradable and have an experimentally
determined BCF of 120. According to the criteria in Regulation
1272/2008, BDP is no
classfied as hazardous to environment.
