Interpretation of results:
Category 1 (strong oxidising solids) based on GHS criteria
Remarks:
EU criteria.
Conclusions:
Based on the test results, the test item has oxidizing properties and is to be classified as Category 1.
Executive summary:

The determination of the oxidising properties of the test item were carried out in accordance with UN Manual of Tests and Criteria: Test O.1 (Test for oxidizing solids), under GLP. The burning time of 4:1 and 1:1 (w/w) test item-cellulose mixtures was compared to the behaviour of reference material mixtures, i.e. potassium bromate and cellulose in a 3:7, 2:3 and 3:2 (w/w) ratio. Measurements were preformed 5 times per sample at 19ºC. Under test conditions, the mean burning time of a 4:1 test item/cellulose mixture was less than the mean burning time of the 3:2 potassium bromate- cellulose reference mixture. Based on the test results, the test item has oxidizing properties and is to be classified as Category 1 (Division 5.1 in packing group I).
