Description of key information
One valid stduy was considered suitable for use in hazard assessment. The toxicity to microorganisms of 3,3,5-trimethylcylohexyl ethyl ether has been investigated using a QSAR model that predicts the respiration inhibition of activated sludge in an OECD 209 study.3,3,5-trimethylcylohexyl ethyl ether falls within the applicability domain of the QSAR model as demonstrated in the QPRF. This toxicity result is acceptable and can be used for that endpoint. A supporting study using an norm not accepted for risk assessment (30 minutes impact on oxygen consumption of P. putida) also found no effects at the maximum concentration tested (1000 mg/L).
