Studies in aquatic environment are scientifically not justified as NiAl compound (1:1) is hydrostatically instable at pH 4, 7.7, 8.9

(see also sections 4.8 'Water solubility' resp. 5.1.2 'Hydrolysis')

and decomposes into the corresponding hydroxides of Nickel and Aluminum:

- Aluminium trihydroxide is almost insoluble in water and not classified. The corresponding test was conducted in respect of water solubility under guideline OECD 105.

- Nickel dihydroxide with a water solubility of 0.13 g/l is classified as 'Chronic 1' (according Nickel consortia)
