First-aid measures
If symptoms appearing or in cases of doubt contact a physician. If there is a risk of loss of consciousness, place and transport in the recovery position.
Inhalation:
Fresh air, after respiratory paralysis commence artificial respiration. In case of respiratory problems apply oxygen.
Skin contact:
In case of contact, immediately wash skin with soap and copious amounts of water. Remove contaminated clothing, dispose contaminated shoes. Do not use any solvents.
Eye contact:
Rinse with water for at least 15 min and consult doctor (eye specialist).
Ingestion:
If swallowed contact a physician immediately. Do not induce vomiting.
Note to physician:
none
Antidote:
none
Fire-fighting measures
foam (alcohol resistant), carbon dioxide, powder, water spray
Special hazards from substance, its combustion products or developing gases:
Emits toxic fumes under fire conditions.
Extinguishing media which must not be used for safety reasons:
water jet
Fire fighting:
Wear self-containing breathing apparatus and protective clothing to prevent contact with skin and eyes.
Fire and explosion hazard: highly flammable liquid
Flash point: 19 °C
Autoignition: 479°C
Additional information:
Contaminated firefighting water must not be discharged into the drainage system.
Cool containers near to the source of fire with water.
Accidental release measures
Keep people away from sources of ignition. Ensure adequate ventilation. Do not breathe in vapours. Wear self-
contained breathing apparatus, rubber boots and heavy rubber gloves. Care for safety instructions (chapter 7 and 8).
Environmental protective measures:
Avoid contamination of waters, waste water or soil. If rivers, lakes or canalisation are contaminated inform local
offices.
Method for clean up/absorption:
Sweep up with not burning absorption material (e. g. sand, earth, Vermiculite, ChemizorbR, Kieselghur). Use cleansing material, no solvents. Place in a container (chapter 13) and hold for waste disposal. Ventilate area and wash spill site after material pickup is complete. Use cleansing material, no solvents.
Handling and storage
Avoid the formation of inflammatory and explosive solvent vapours. Take precaution against electrostatic charges. Keep away from sources of ignition. Wear antistatic cloth and shoes. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Do not breathe vapour and spray.
Information for fire and explosion-prevention:
- Spreading of the gases specially close to the ground (heavier than air). Vapours form an explosive mixture with air.
Storage: Requirements for storage compartments and containers: Keep tightly closed. Store in a cool (< 25°C) dry place. No smoking. Keep unauthorised persons away. Keep container tightly closed and store upright. Keep away from acid and alkaline materials and oxidizing reagents.
Further Information for storage conditions:
Store only in a original container. When material is stored in between 5 to 25 °C it is durable for six month. Store in a cool (< 25°C) dry place. Ensure adequate ventilation. If the material was stored for a while mix well before usage. Keep away from direct sun irradiation and heat. Keep away from sources of ignition.
Storage class (VCI, TRGS 510): 3

Exposure controls / personal protection
Use close systems, close fill and refill-systems. If limits for the concentration of solvent vapours are exceeded use gas-
mask.
Ventilation:
Ensure adequate ventilation .
Parts related with work place, and threshold values to be monitored:
CAS-No. Designation/ type/ value/ unit
108-88-3 Toluol / MAK / 50 / ppm
126-73-8 Tributylphosphat / MAK / 2.5 / mg/m3
131- 17-9 Diallylphthalat / MAK / 5 / mg/m3
Keep inside allowed concentrations.
Personal safety equipment:
General safety and hygiene precautions:
Safety shower and eye bath, change contaminated clothing.
Gloves:
Wear rubber gloves, wash thoroughly after handling.
Eye protection:
Safety goggles.
Clothing:
Antistatic laboratory smock. Change contaminated clothing.
Respiratory protection:
If limits for the concentration of solvent vapours are exceeded wear gas-mask.
For firefighting and other immediately dangerous to life or health conditions:
Wear self-contained breathing apparatus.
Stability and reactivity
Keep away from direct sun irradiation and heat. Keep away from sources of ignition.
Substances to avoid:
Keep away from strong acid and alkaline materials and oxidizing reagents to avoid strong exothermic reactions.
Dangerous decomposition products:
Toxic fumes of: carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, nitric oxides.
Polymerization:
Further information:
No hazardous decomposition products if stored and handled as prescribed.
Disposal considerations
Recommendation:
Contaminated firefighting water must not be discharged into the drainage system.
Waste key number: 080199
Recommendation for packing:
Give purified packing to recycling/reclamation of metals and metal compounds.
Non-purified packing are hazardous waste.
Incinerate in approved facility. Observe all federal, state and local regulations when disposing of this substance.
