Conclusions:
The surface tension of an aqueous solution of Sika Hardener MI was determined in two measurements. Both measurements revealed values lower than 60 mN/m. Therefore, Sika Hardener MI was classified as surface active.
Executive summary:

The determination of the surface tension of an aqueous solution of Sika Hardener MI was performed according to OECD Guideline 115 resp. EU Method A.5. The surface tension of an aqueous solution of the test item Sika Hardener MI was determined as 52.71 ± 0.03 mN/m at 19.9 °C. One additional measurement was performed for verification (after 63 minutes). No significant changes and, thus, no significant dependence on time were observed. The surface tension of the negative control lay within the accepted range.

As the measured values were lower than 60 mN/m, Sika Hardener MI was classified as surface active.

Description of key information

The surface tension of an aqueous solution of Sika Hardener MI was determined in two measurements to be 52.71 mN/m. As the value is lower than 60 mN/m Sika Hardener MI is regarded as surface active.
