Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The substance has a low bioaccumulation potential.

Additional information

The test substance will be hydrolysed within a few days in the relevant pH range (DT50 = 2.3 d; pH 7, 25 °C) and the log Pow values of the hydrolysis products are far below 3 (-2.81 (pH 10) to - 0.18 (pH 4)). At an even higher pH, the log Pow can also be assumed to be negative due to salt formation. The log Pow of the target compound itself is below 4.5 (log Pow = 3.80). Simulation studies showed that the substance is quickly eliminated from both water body and sediment, with hydrolysis to the free acid and further biodegradation of this hydrolysis product. DT50 values of 0.19 and 1.5 days (at 20 °C, recalculated to 0.4 and 3.2 days at 12 °C) were obtained based on data from soil and water/sediment systems from Europe and the US. Thus, it is not likely that they can be found in the aquatic environment in high concentrations. QSAR calculations resulted in a BCF ranging from 24 – 177 L/kg and a log BCF of 1.39 – 2.25. Therefore, the potential for bioaccumulation is low.
