Ethanol is the alcohol hydrolysis product of the registered substance ethoxytrimethylsilane.
Ethanol is readily biodegradable and therefore does not meet the screening criteria for persistence (not P/vP).
Ethanol has a log Kow of -0.31 and therefore does not meet the screening criteria for bioaccumulation (not B/vB).
Ethanol has a low environmental hazard profile and is not classified as carcinogenic, mutagenic, toxic for reproduction, chronic toxicity or specific organ toxicity and therefore does not meet the criteria for toxicity (not T).
Based on ECHA guidance R.11, ethanol does not meet the overall criteria for PBT or vPvB.
