Additional information

The acute toxicity of (2-Ethoxy-1-methyl-2-oxoethyl)-5-[2-chloro-4-(trifluoromethyl) phenoxy]-2-nitrobenzoate to Danio rerio was studied under semi-static conditions in accordance with the EEC Methods for Determination of Ecotoxicity Annex to Directive 92/69/EEC (O.J. No. L383A, 29.12.92) Part C, Method 1 'Acute toxicity for Fish' which is in most parts equivalent to the OECD Guideline for Testing of Chemicals No. 203 'Fish, Acute Toxicity Test'.

Under semi-static test conditions, each 10 fish/group were exposed to a concentration of nominally 1 mg/L of (2-Ethoxy-1-methyl-2-oxoethyl)-5-[2-chloro-4-(trifluoromethyl) phenoxy]-2-nitrobenzoate in a limit test in water. The number of dead fish and the incidence of sub-lethal effects were determined after 2, 24, 48, 72 and 96 h of exposure. The EC50 was > 1 mg/L (nominal) for all time points. No effect on fish was observed at any time point and at the highest concentration achievable.
