Growth of the green alga Selenastrum capricornutum (new name: Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata) tested according to EPA OPP 122-2 (Algal Toxicity, Tiers I and II), was inhibited during the 5 d incubation period with an EC50 value of 4.9 µg/L and a NOEC of 1.83 µg/L.

No other aquatic toxicity was observed at concentrations up to the solubility of the substance. The following data were measured:

For blue-green algae (tested: Anabaena flos-aquae) no inhibition of algal growth was observable up to the maximum technically achievable concentration of the substance at approximately 0.058 mg/L.

Acute toxicity to fish: LC50 (Danio rerio, 96 h, EEC Methods for Determination of Ecotoxicity Annex to Directive 92/69/EEC (O.J. No. L383A, 29.12.92) Part C, Method 1 Acute toxicity to Fish) LC50 (fish) > 1 mg/L

Chronic toxicity to fish ((Cyprinodon variegatus variegatus, early-life stage: reproduction, (sub)lethal effects): LC50 (fish) > 0.78 - < 1.9 mg/L

Acute toxicity to invertebrates (Daphnia magna, 48 h, OECD Guideline 202 (Daphnia sp. Acute Immobilisation Test)) EC50 > limit of solubility (> 0.003 mg/L = highest concentration achievable)
