Description of key information
An experimental study and a calculation have been performed in order to try and determine the water solubility of CAS 94581-15-4 resin and rosin acids, fumarated, esters with pentaerythritol. The experimental value is <1 mg/L (considered 'slightly soluble'). The calculated value is 3.3 mg/L. As the calculated value is based on a simplified structure the experimental value is nominated as the 'key value'.

CAS 94581 -15 -4 is the ester of chemically modified UVCB. 'Pure' is therefore a difficult concept in the face of the variable composition. The experimental value of <0.001 g/L is, at most, 'slightly soluble'. The calculated value is 3.3343 mg/L ('slightly soluble'), but is likely to refer to a more water soluble entity than those present in the substance. The value of <1 mg/L is used as the 'key value'.
