Boiling point

The boiling point determination of Bis(2-ethylhexyl) 4,4’-{6-[4-tert-butylcarbamoyl)anilino]-1,3,5-triazine-2,4-diyldiimino}dibenzoate (CAS No. 154702-15-5) was done following OECD Guideline 103 and according to the method of Siwoloboff. The test was conducted in replicates and mean boiling point was found to be greater than 240 °C at 977.3 hPa.

Density

The mean density of test itemBis(2-ethylhexyl)4,4’-{6-[4-tert-butylcarbamoyl)anilino]-1,3,5-triazine-2,4-diyldiimino}dibenzoate(CAS No. 154702-15-5) was determined following OECD guideline 109 and according to the method adapted from ASTM D854-02 for determination of density of liquids. The mass by volume ratio was determined using pyknometer. The mean density of the test item was found to be0.6703 gm/cm3at 20oC and 979.1 hPa.

Particle size distribution (Granulometry)

The particle size distribution of test item Bis(2-ethylhexyl)4,4’-{6-[4-tert-butylcarbamoyl)anilino]-1,3,5-triazine-2,4-diyldiimino}dibenzoate(CAS No. 154702-15-5) was determined by granulometric analysis with rotap sieve shaker. The particle size distribution was found to be in the range of 150 micron to 10 micron.

Vapour pressure

Partition coefficient

The partition Coefficient n-octanol/water of Bis(2-ethylhexyl)4,4’-{6-[4-tert-butylcarbamoyl)anilino]-1,3,5-triazine-2,4-diyldiimino}dibenzoate (CAS No. 154702-15-5) was determined by the Reverse Phase High Performance Liquid Chromatographic method according to OECD Guideline No. 117 for testing of Chemicals. The reference substances were chosen according to estimated Pow range of the test substance and generalized calibration graph was prepared. The reference substances were 4- Acetyl pyridine, Acetanilide, 2-Nitrophenol, 2,6-Dichlorobenzonitrile, Diphenylamine, Triphenylamine, DDT having Pow values ranging from 0.5 to 6.5. TheLog Pow value was found tobe5.925±0.100at 25°C.

Water solubility

The Water solubility of test substance was found to be ca. 0.005 mg/L at temperatuer 20 °C; Hence the test chemical is considered to be insoluble in water

Surface tension

This end point was considered for waiver since in accordance with column 2 of Annex VII of the REACH regulation, if the water solubility is below 1 mg/l at 20 °C the test does not need to be conducted. The water solubility value for this chemical (Bis(2-ethylhexyl) 4,4’-{6-[4-tert-butylcarbamoyl)anilino]-1,3,5-triazine-2,4-diyldiimino}dibenzoate) is reported to be approximately 0.005 mg/L indicating that the chemical is highly insoluble in water.

Flash point

The flash point determination ofbis(2-ethylhexyl)4,4’-{6-[4-tert-butylcarbamoyl)anilino]-1,3,5-triazine-2,4-diyldiimino}dibenzoate(CAS No. 154702-15-5) was done following closed cup method using Pensky Martens flash point apparatus. The test was conducted in replicates and mean flash point was found to be> 100°C at 978 hPa.

Auto flammability

This end point was considered to be scientifically unjustified since the chemical Bis(2-ethylhexyl) 4,4’-{6-[4-tert-butylcarbamoyl)anilino]-1,3,5-triazine-2,4-diyldiimino}dibenzoate is a solid and in accordance with column 2 of Annex VII of the REACH regulationfor solids, if the substance has a melting point ≤ 160 °C, then the study for auto flammability need not be conducted.

Flammability

No ignition on the test substance has been detected in the preliminary phase of the flammbility test for solids, therefore the chemical is considered to be non flammable

Explosiveness

In accordance with Annex VII of the REACH regulation, this end point was not considered for testing since there are no chemical groups associated with explosive properties present in the molecule of the chemical Bis(2-ethylhexyl) 4,4’-{6-[4-tert-butylcarbamoyl)anilino]-1,3,5-triazine-2,4-diyldiimino}dibenzoate. Thus, the chemical is unlikely to exhibit explosive property.

Oxidising properties

The substance Bis(2-ethylhexyl) 4,4’-{6-[4-tert-butylcarbamoyl)anilino]-1,3,5-triazine-2,4-diyldiimino}dibenzoate is incapable of reacting exothermically with combustible materials on the basis of the chemical structure. The chemical is an organic substance containing oxygen but no halogen atoms and the oxygen atoms present are not chemically bonded to nitrogen or oxygen. Thus, the chemical is not likely to exhibit oxidising properties in accordance with the waiver criteria mentioned in column 2 of Annex VII of the REACH regulation.
