First-aid measures

GENERAL INFORMATION: Change contaminated clothing. Also heed the risks to your own person.

FOLLOWING SKIN CONTACT: Wash skin immediately with plenty of water and soap. Subsequent clean sing with polyethyleneglycol 400, then again with water and soap. If skin reactions occur, contact a physician.

FOLLOWING EYE CONTACT: Open the eyelids and rinse for an adequate length of time with water. Consult an eye specialist immediately.

UPON INHALATION: Take the patient into the fresh air; if there is difficulty in breathing, medical advice is required.

UPON SWALLOWING: The mouth should be rinsed out several times. Ensure that the patient drinks water. In any case consult a physician.

Fire-fighting measures

Extinguishing media: All extinguishing materials are suitable.

Hazardous decomposition products: carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, nitrogen oxides

Firemen have to wear self-contained breathing apparatus. Fight fire in early stages if safe to do so.

Containers at risk from fire should be cooled with water and, if possible, removed from the danger area.

Do not let enter contaminated extinguishing water into the soil, groundwater or surface waters.

Accidental release measures

Take up avoiding formation of dust. Fill into labelled, sealable containers.

Ensure adequate ventilation/exhaust ventilation. Keep unauthorized persons away.

Use the necessary personal protective equipment when handling.

Handling and storage

This substance is handled under Strictly Controlled Conditions in accordance with  REACH regulation Article 17(3) for on-site isolated intermediates and, in case the substance is transported to other sites for further processing, the substance should be handled at these sites under the Strictly Controlled Conditions as specified in REACH regulation Article 18(4).  Site documentation to support safe handling arrangements including the selection of engineering, administrative and personal protective equipment controls in accordance with risk-based management systems is available at each manufacturing site.

Written confirmation of application of Strictly Controlled Conditions has been received from every affected Distributor and Downstream Processor/User of the Registrant’s intermediate.

Store in original container.

Ensure effective ventilation. Vent waste air only via suitable separators or scrubbers.

Precautions should generally be taken against electrostatic charge according to the

equipment used and the way the product is handled and packaged.

Respiratory protection: Combination filter against organic vapours and particles, e.g.

DIN 3181 ABEK-PI, in case of dust formation.

Eye protection: goggles

Hand protection: e.g. gloves of rubber or PVC

Avoid contact with skin and eyes and the inhalation of dust. Wash hands

before breaks and at end of work. Keep working clothes separate.

Stability and reactivity

Thermal decomposition: No thermal decomposition when stored and handled correctly.

Hazardous decomposition products: No hazardous decomposition products when stored and handled correctly. Formation of carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, nitrogen oxides and other toxic gases in the event of fire or during thermal decomposition.

Hazardous reactions: In the case of dusty organic products the possibility of a dust explosion should always be considered. No hazardous reaction when used as directed.

Disposal considerations

During the whole life cycle of the substance all necessary measures in accordance to art. 18(4) of (EC) 1907/2006 are undertaken. The substance is handled under strictly controlled conditions.

Waste air from the process is being burnt.

Solvents, mother liquors, solid or aqueous waste is being burnt.
