The mortality rate in the control was below 10 % which can be regarded as the limit for natural mortality. As the physical-chemical measurements show, the properties of the test soil are in agreement with the nominal values. The LC50 of the reference substance is within the usual range. The test conditions are therefore equivalent to the standard. The values given are nominal concentrations. The LC50 (14d) was > 1000 mg/kg dry weight substrate. The LLC (lowest lethal concentration) was > 1000 mg/kg dry weight soil. Related-to weight alterations and symptoms, the no-observed-effect-concentration (NOEC) was 10 mg/kg dry weight soil, the lowest-observed-effect-concentration (LOEC) 32 mg/kg dry weight soil, and the threshold effect concentration (TEC, geometric mean of NOEC and LOEC) 18 mg/kg dry weight soil.
