Pour l'évaluation, la substance à enregistrer doit être considérée comme pas facilement biodégradable si sa partie inorganique (le cation métallique de Nickel) est privilégiée. En conclusion de la non-biodégradabilité du métal et pour l’évaluation de l’exposition, l’exposition au métal doit être considérée. D’autre part, dans le cas ou la partie organique de la substance est établie comme le toxicophore, la substance peut être considérée comme facilement biodégradable pour affiner les hypothèses retenues pour l’exposition. La partie métallique ne représentant qu'une faible partie (en masse) de la substance et le coefficient de partage eau-octanol (log Koe = 0.4), la substance à enregistrer est donc considérée comme facilement biodégradable.
