Conclusions:
From the experimental data obtained, it can be concluded that the auto-ignition-temperature of d-phenothrin technical grade is 395 °C, according to the guideline in Official Journal L 283 A.15
Executive summary:

A preliminary test has been performed on the test item. At room temperature the substance on contact with air did not ignite spontaneously, and hence it was submitted to the test according to EU method A.15.

The test was performed at an atmospheric pressure of 1012 mbar. Initially 250 µL of the test article was used starting at a temperature of 355 °C. An ignition with the hot flame was not observed under these conditions. The temperature was then increased until 448 °C when a flame was noted. By refining the temperature interval, the minimum auto-ignition temperature was determined to be 408 °C. The test was then repeated with reduced quantities of the test article of 200, 150, 100, 70 and 50 µL. The minimum temperature of auto-ignition was observed with 200 µL. Using this quantity, viz. 200 µL, different tests were performed with small changes of temperature until a minimum auto-ignition temperature of 395 °C was determined with an ignition delay time of 5 seconds.
