Conclusions:
For n-hexane the solubility at 25 °C was higher than 1 kg/L.
For methanol the solubility at 25 °C was lower than 1 kg/L, also the effect of the temperature was investigated, obtaining at 40 °C a solubility higher than 1 kg/L.
Executive summary:

In order to investigate the range of solubility for the two solvents, chosen for their polarity difference, two 50 mg aliquots of the test article were weighed by the analytical balance into 10 mL test tubes and 5 mL of each solvent were added.

In both n-hexane and methanol, all the test article was dissolved, indicating a solubility higher than 10 g/L (1% w/w).

Therefore, for both n-hexane and methanol solvents the determination of the test article solubility was performed by a visual test without instrumental analysis.

For n-hexane the solubility at 25 °C was higher than 1 kg/L.

For methanol the solubility at 25 °C was lower than 1 kg/L. However, also the effect of the temperature was investigated, obtaining at 40 °C a solubility higher than 1 kg/L.

Description of key information

A visual test to determine the solubility in organic solvent of the test material has been performed as according to a preliminary test, the solubility was above 10 g/L (1% w/w)

For n-hexane the solubility at 25 °C was higher than 1 kg/L.

For methanol the solubility at 25 °C was lower than 1 kg/L, but also the effect of the temperature was investigated, obtaining at 40 °C a solubility higher than 1 kg/L.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Solubility in organic solvents at 20°C:
1 000 g/L
