Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

A key study measured the density as 1.400 g/ml at 49 (+/- 0.5 ) degrees C. Supporting literature values are reported in the SIDS dossier.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The substance is a solid at room temperature (see section 4.1-Appearance/physical state/colour) with a melting point of 45 degrees C (see section 4.2 -Melting point/freezing point) so the available density values presented have been measured at temperatures greater than the melting point. The key study measured the density as 1.400 g/ml at 49 (+/- 0.5) degrees C. The SIDS dossier reports three density values, two of which were measured at 60 degrees C (1.38 and 1.383 g/ml). The third value reported was 1.38 g/ml which does not report the temperature at which it was measured.

Therefore based on the key study performed and the available literature data it can be concluded that the density of 2,4-Dichlorophenol is 1.38 g/ml at 60 degrees C and 1.400 g/ml at 49 degrees C.
