Description of key information

Not applicable to solid Sodium isobutyl xanthate that dissociate in aqueous solution and decomposes to carbon disulphide, alcohol, sodium carbonate and trithiocarbonate.
Carbon disulphide (CAS number 75–15–0) it is the major decomposition product, which is liquid and have to be considered.
Expert Judgement
This parameter, Surface tension, is not applicable to substances that dissociate in aqueous
Solution but the major decomposition product Carbon disulphide (CAS number 75–15–0) have to be considered.
Therefore testing for Surface tension does not need to be performed.

Key value for chemical safety assessment
