Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Any other information on results incl. tables

The melting/freezing range is the point at which the test substance changes phase from a solid to

a liquid form. If the test substance is a liquid at room temperature with a freezing point below -

20 °C, the test procedure for freezing point will be effective. Freezing point testing will be

conducted using a test tube and freezing liquid (dry ice/acetone bath). The sample will be gently

stirred to avoid super cooling of the liquid during freezing. The temperature of the liquid will be

monitored and recorded as the sample is cooled. The freezing point will be reported as the

plateau temperature observed in the liquid cooling curve. For substances that do not freeze

above -50 "C, the freezing temperature will be reported as less than -50 °C (223 K).

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
The freezing temperature is < -50 °C.
Executive summary:

The freezing point was conducted using a glass test tube with a Tetlon®-lined screw cap

submerged in an acetone/dry ice bath. An aliquot of test substance was placed in a pre-weighed

test tube and capped. The temperature of the liquid was monitored and recorded as the sample

was cooled.

When the test substance was submerged in a dry ice/acetone bath, no plateau of temperature in

the liquid cooling curve was observed. Thus, the melting/freezing point of the test substance

could not be determined. The freezing temperature is reported as < -50 °C.
