Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The target substance has no auto-flammability property.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

There is a mechanistic reasoning to the read-across from degrdation products and the analogue substances in the category " highly water reactive titanates " that this substance has no auto-flammability properties. This substance is reactive and will decompose rapidly when in contact with moisture or water. Complete hydrolysis will happen with no other degradation products than n-butanol and titanium dioxide.

The testing is unnecessary as the self-ignition properties are related to the degradation products which are not self-igniting. In addition, the results of auto-flammability test (EU A15) of the analogue category member (titanium tetraisopropanolate) is not presenting any self-ignition as the self-ignition temperature is > 400 deg. Celsius (Leslie S. 2010).
