Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

The short-term toxicity of PF-6 (CAS 61358-25-6) to aquatic invertebrates was investigated in a GLP guideline study. The static test was performed according to OECD 202 (Kimmel, 2012) with the water flea (Daphnia magna). Several dilutions (up to 1:320) of a filtrate with nominal 100 mg/L were tested in this study. The test substance was analyzed using HPLC/UV analysis. Duplicate samples were tested at the beginning and at the end of the test. The results from chemical analysis indicated that the substance remained stable during the test (97 - 100% of initially measured concentration). The biological results were related to the geometric mean of the measured concentrations of the test item. The EC50 was calculated to be 0.64 mg/L and the NOEC was determined at 0.30 mg/L based on the measured concentrations.
