Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

The short-term toxicity of PF-6 (CAS 61358-25-6) to fish was investigated in a GLP guideline study. The static test was performed according to OECD 203 (Kimmel, 2012) with the zebra fish (Brachydanio rerio). An undiluted filtrate with a loading rate of 100 mg/L and the dilutions of 1:2.2, 1:4.6, 1:10, 1:22 and 1:46 were tested in this study. The test substance was analyzed using HPLC/UV analysis. The measured values corresponded to 100% of initially measured in the undiluted filtrate and between 90 and 104% of initially measured in the dilutions of 1:2.2, 1:4.6, 1:10, 1:22 and 1:46 after 96 h, indicating that the substance remained stable during the study. The biological results were related to the geometric mean of the measured concentrations of the test item. The LC50 was calculated to be 20 mg/L and the NOEC was determined at 10 mg/L based on the measured concentrations.
