Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Move individual to fresh air. Get medical attention if breathing difficulty occurs. If not breathing, provide
artificial respiration assistance (mouth-to-mouth) and call a physician immediately. Emergency measure - Eyes: Flush eyes with plenty of water. Get medical attention.
Emergency measure - Skin: Remove contaminated clothing and clean before re-use. Wash all exposed areas of skin with soap and water. Get medical attention if irritation develops. Emergency measure - Ingestion: Do not give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Immediately transport to a medical care facility and see a physician.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Water, carbon dioxide, dry chemical, foam or Halon exting uishing agents may be used.

Product arising from burning: Products which arise are predominantly carbon dioxide and water.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Fire-fighters should wear full protective clothing and a self-contained breathing apparatus.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Prevent further migration of the substance into the environ ment. Contain dry material by sweeping up or
vacuuming. Vacuuming may disperse dust if appropriate dust collection filter is not part of the vacuum. Be aware of potential for dust explosion when using electrical equipment. Wear protective equipment, including eye protection,to avoid exposure.

Dispose of any clean-up materials and waste residue by incineration, according to the Integrated
Pollution Licence granted by EPA.

Handling and storage

Handling: The substance will only be handled where adequate ventilation/extraction is in place eg l aboratory fumehood or local exhaust ventilation. An approved respirator and safety glasses should be worn. Chemical resistant gloves and body covering will be worn to minimise skin contact. If handled in a ventilated enclosure, as in a laboratory setting, respirator and goggles or face shield may not be required. Safety glasses are always required.

Storage: Store in tightly closed containers. Keep containers upright.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Intermediate 202723 is packaged in a LDPE drum liner and
then placed into a fiber drum.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Substance is handled under strictly controlled conditions with local exhaust ventilation and/or cont ained closed systems and personal protective equipment used during weighing, dispensing and charging. For initial dispensing, local exhaust extraction and air supplied disposable half suit with impermeable disposal protective clothing, and nitrile gloves are used. For material transfer, soft co ntainment technology glove bag is used with impermeable disposal protective clothing, nitrile gloves, safety goggles and particulate/dust respirator. Substance is charged to a glass lined process vessel, charged to the vessel by gravity through a charge nozzle (a fully contained bottle bag system) and operators use impermeable disposal protective clothing, nitrile gloves, safety goggles and particulate/ dust respirator.

Stability and reactivity

Danger other than fire: Thermal Stability:

This material should not be exposed to temperatures above
115°C (239 F). This temperature is based on a laboratory test (Differential Scanning Calorimetry) and assumes near atmospheric pressures and quantities of less than 500Kg (1000lb).

Incompatability:

May react with strong oxidising agents (eg peroxides, permanganates, nitric acid etc.)

Chemical reaction with water: None known

Dust explosion: As is the case with most organic solids, it may form dust mixtures in air which could explode if subjected to an
ignition source.

Dust explosion determined by test: N

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Material is not recovered or recycled. Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: None known
Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Controlled discharge is not recommended for this substance.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Incineration is the preferred method of disposal according
to Integrated Pollution Licence granted by EPA.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not applicable. Not recommended. Industry - Possibility of destruction - other: None
Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Not applicable. The substance is not intended for public
use.
