Description of key information

Based on the read-across with Lithium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide, Sodium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide is not considered to be sensitising to skin.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Skin sensitisation

Endpoint conclusion
Endpoint conclusion:
no adverse effect observed (not sensitising)
Additional information:

Since no information on skin sensitization is available for Sodium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide, the results from the structural analogue Lithium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide are used instead (for details see Read-across justification as attached in section 13). Based on the results of this study, sodium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide is considered as not sensitizing to skin.

Respiratory sensitisation

Endpoint conclusion
Endpoint conclusion:
no study available

Justification for classification or non-classification

Based on the read-across with Lithium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide, Sodium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide is not considered as sensitising to skin.In accordance to EU Classification, Labelling and Packaging of Substances and Mixtures (CLP) Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008, classification is not necessary for sensitisation.
