Endpoint:
biodegradation in soil: simulation testing
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is readily biodegradable
Justification for type of information:
In accordance with Column 2 (9.2.1.3) adaptation statement of REACH Annex IX, soil simulation testing does not need to be conducted for substances ā‰„ 100 t as the test substance has proven to be readily biodegradable according to OECD 301 criteria.
Furthermore, a KOC value of 1 L/kg had been estimated for N,Nā€™-methylene-bis(5-methyloxazolidine) on the basis of a measured value log POW value for 5-methyl-oxazolidine. This value indicates a weak adsorption potential of the compound to soil and sediments.
Based on these results no indirect exposure of the soil compartment is expected via sludge application to agricultural soil. In addition, direct exposure of soil is not expected.
