Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

There is no study available on the toxicity of the substance to terrestrial organisms. However, from the intended use of the substance direct exposure of soil as well as indirect exposure via air is not expected.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Furthermore, a KOC value of 1 L/kg had been estimated for N,Nā€™-methylenebis(5-methyloxazolidine) on the basis of a measured log POW value for 5-methyl-oxazolidine. This value indicates a weak adsorption potential of the compound to soil and sediments.

Based on these results no indirect exposure of the soil compartment is expected via sludge application to agricultural soil. Furthermore, direct exposure to soil is not expected.

Overall, calculating the PNEC using the equilibrium partitioning method seems to be appropriate for the risk assessment. An experimental study on toxicity to terrestrial organisms of the substance is scientifically not justified. The available data are sufficient.
