Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data

First-aid measures

- Following inhalation:

Move to fresh air and keep at rest. For breathing difficulties, oxygen may be necessary. Get immediate medical attention. Administer artificial respiration if breathing has ceased.

- Following skin contact:

Wash skin thoroughly with soap and water. Get medical attention if irritation persists after washing. Remove contaminated clothing and shoes. Wash contaminated clothing before use. Destroy or thoroughly clean contaminated shoes.

- Following eye contact:

Immediately rinse eyes thoroughly with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. If easy to do, remove contact lenses. Get medical attention.

- Following ingestion:

Do not induce vomitting unless directed to do so by medical personnel. Never give liquid to an unconscious person. Get medical attention.

- Most important symptoms and effects: No data available.

Fire-fighting measures

- General fire hazards: Self-containing reathing apparatus and full protective clothing must be worn in case of fire.

- Suitable extinguishing media:

Water spray, fog, Carbon dioxide (CO2), dry chemical, or alcohol resistant foam.

- Unsuitable extinguishing media:

None known

- Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture:

Emits toxic and corrosive fumes under fire conditions.

- Advice for fire fighter: Prevent runoff from fire control or dilution from entering streams, sewers or drinking water supply.

Accidental release measures

- Personal precautions:

Wear appropriate personal protective equipment. Immediately contact emergency personnel. Keep unnecessary personnel away. Follow all fire fighting procedures.

- Environmental precautions: Do not release into the environment.

- Methods and material for containment and cleaning up: Use a vacuum cleaner. If not possible, moisten dust with water before it is collected with shovel, broom or the like. Collect in containers and seal securely. Prevent runoff from entering drains, sewers or streams.

Handling and storage

Handling: Do not breath dust. Avoid contact with eyes, skin, and clothing. Wash thoroughly after handling.

Storage: Store at -20°C. Store in tightly closed containers in a dry, cool and well-ventilated place.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Hand protection: Reference standard: EN 374. Chemical resistant gloves. Consider double gloving.

Body protection: Additional body garments should be used based upon the task being performed (e.g., sleevelets, apron, gauntlets, disposable suits) to avoid exposed skin surfaces. Use appropriate degowning techniques to remove potentially contaminated clothing.

Eye protection: Reference standard: EN 166. Wear safety glasses with side shields (or goggles). If the work environment or activity involves dusty conditions, mists or aerosols, wear the appropriate goggles. Wear a faceshield or other full face protection if there is a potential for direct contact to the face with dusts, mists, or aerosols.

Respiratory protection: Reference standard: EN 140. Use an appropriate approved air-purifying respirator equipped with HEPA cartridges/canisters where there is the potential for exceeding established occupational exposure limits or occupational exposure bands. Reference standard: EN 12941. Powered air filter respirator. Reference standard: 14594. Use a positive pressure, air-supplied, pressure demand tight fitting respirator (e.g., SCBA or airline equipped with emergency escape bottle) where there is a potential for uncontrolled releases in excess of the respirator's capabilities, where exposure levels are unknown or where air-purifying respirators may not provide adequate protection.

Hygiene measures: Wash skin thoroughly with soap and water.

Stability and reactivity

STABILITY/ REACTIVITY: No data available.

CONDITIONS AND MATERIALS TO AVOID: Excessive heat. Moisture.

HAZARDOUS DECOMPOSITION PRODUCTS / REACTIONS: Thermal decomposition or combustion may liberate carbon oxides and other toxic gases or vapors.

Disposal considerations

MATERIAL WASTE:

Incineration is the most effective method of disposal in most instances. Do not allow runoff to sewer, waterway or ground. Operations that involve the crushing or shredding of waste materials or returned goods should take into account recommended exposure limits wher they exist.

PACKAGING AND CONTAINERS:

Disposal must be in accordance with applicable federal, state/provincial, and/or local regulations.
