Description of key information

The test substance, molybdenum trioxide, reaction products with bis[O,O-bis(2-ethylhexyl)] hydrogen dithiophosphate (Oil Free),is essentially insoluble in water. QSAR calculations estimate that water solubility is below 10-6mg/L; the U.S. EPA EPISuite models WSKOW and WATERNT predict water solubility values of 2.381 × 10-17mg/L and 9.9508 × 10-7mg/L, respectively. The UVCB substance includes a fraction that does not contain molybdenum that has a measured solubility of 0.05 μg/mL at 20 °C.

Additional testing is waived based on the low solubility predicted by the QSAR models, the low solubility observed for the fraction not containing molybdenum, and the inherent difficulty in testing poorly soluble inorganic complexes.
