In accordance with section 2 of REACH Annex XI, the boiling point study does not need to be performed when the substance decomposes before boiling. The test item consists of a main component with several solvents which are complexometrically bonded to the main component. In a boiling point study the boiling point of the different solvents will be determined. As the test item reacts with glass, any standard test for determining boiling point is not feasible as glassware is used. Therefore, the study is technically not feasible.
