Details on test solutions:
Preparation of the test solutions/dispersions : The test substance was slightly soluble in water. Therefore, the test solution was prepared by dissolving 800mg/L of the test substance in 1.8 liters of potable water (passed through reverse osmosis system) with continuous stirring of 48 hrs. After the completion was 48 hrs stirring, the sample was run with HPLC to calculate the actual solubility of substance and the solubility calculated was 1.4 mg/L. the water solubility obtained from the stock prepared is then used for achieving test concentrations of 0.02 mg/L, 0.04 mg/L, 0.06 mg/L, 0.08 mg/L& 0.2 mg/L, respectively. pH: 7.2
Test organisms (species):
Danio rerio (previous name: Brachydanio rerio)
Details on test organisms:
TEST ORGANISM- Common name: Zebra Fish (Danio rerio)- Source: Orange City Aquarium, Sitabuldi, Nagpur, MS (India) - Age at study initiation (mean and range, SD): 3-4 months- Length at study initiation (length definition, mean, range and SD): average 2.3 cm- Weight at study initiation: 0.268 g (average) - Housing :The fishes were kept in a static tank in tap water, under natural conditions along with proper feed and aeration.- Duration of housing : 15 days - Photoperiod : 12 hours light and 12 hours darkness- Oxygen content : 7.4 (mg/l)- pH : 7.1- Water temperature : 28 °C- Mortality (%): During last 14 days = 0% mortality- Diet : Standard brand feed, once daily

Nominal and measured concentrations:
0.02 mg/L, 0.04mg/L, 0.06 mg/L, 0.08 m/L, & 0.2 mg/L.
Details on test conditions:
TEST SYSTEM- Test vessel: The test vessels used were all plastic aquaria having the water capacity of 5 liters.- Aeration: Aeration in test vessels was provided during the experiment after 24 hours of the start of the experiment.
Duration:
96 h
Dose descriptor:
LC50
Effect conc.:
> 0.08 - < 0.2 mg/L
Nominal / measured:
nominal
Conc. based on:
test mat.
Basis for effect:
mortality (fish)
Details on results:
A 96 h study was conducted for CAS No. 37330-39-5 on Zebra fish, at a test concentrations of 0.02 mg/L, 0.04mg/L, 0.06 mg/L, 0.08 m/L, & 0.2 mg/L. The fishes were moving slowly as compared to control. Mortality was found in the control aquaria. Mortality in each test concentration was nullified for the one mortality observed in control. LC0 (96 hours) (highest loading at which no mortality was observed) = Mortality was observed in all the five concentrationsLC50 (96 hours) Experimental = > 0.08 mg/L and <0.2 mg/LLC100 (96 hours) (lowest loading at which 100% mortality was observed) = 100% mortality was not in any of the concentration.
Validity criteria fulfilled:
yes
Conclusions:
Based on nominal concentrations, experimental median lethal Concentrations [LC-50 (96 h)] for CAS No. 37330-39-5 on Zebra Fish was found to be > 0.08 mg/L and < 0.2 mg/L.
Executive summary:

Fish Acute Toxicity test according to OECD Guideline 203 was conducted for Reaction mass of Cardanol diene and Cardanol monoene and Cardanol triene. The nominal concentration selected for the experiment were 0.02 mg/L, 0.04 mg/L, 0.06 mg/L, 0.08 mg/L& 0.2 mg/L and Zebra fishes were exposed to these concentration for 96 hours. The lethal concentrations LC50 was found to be > 0.08 mg/L and <0.2 mg/L.
