Description of key information

According to theoretical considerations based on chemical structure, Cardanol does not possess explosive properties. The reason for this is there are no chemical groups associated with explosive properties in Cardanol . Thus, as per column 2 of Annex VII this end point was considered for waiver.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Explosiveness:
non explosive

Additional information

Reaction mass of Cardanol diene and Cardanol monoene and Cardanol triene does not possess explosive properties. The reason for this is there are no chemical groups associated with explosive properties in Reaction mass of Cardanol diene and Cardanol monoene and Cardanol triene. Thus cardanol is considered non-explosive for classification purposes.

Justification for classification or non-classification

Reaction mass of Cardanol diene and Cardanol monoene and Cardanol triene does not possess explosive properties. The reason for this is there are no chemical groups associated with explosive properties in Reaction mass of Cardanol diene and Cardanol monoene and Cardanol triene. Thus cardanol is considered non-explosive for classification purposes.
