Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
relative density
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
2017
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.3 (Relative Density)
Deviations:
no
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
OECD Guideline 109 (Density of Liquids and Solids)
Deviations:
no
Principles of method if other than guideline:
Since the test item is a solid melt at room temperature it could not be filled in a pycnometer. For this reason the test item was melted, filled in a glass vial and weighed. The volume of vial was determined before and the density of the test item could be calculated with the quotient of sample weight and the corresponding volume.
Description of the procedure
(a) The vial was weighed.
(b) The vial was completely filled with water and hold for 30 min. at 20 °C under temperature control. Then the vial was weighed again.
(c) The vial was emptied, cleaned and dried and filled with the melted sample, then weighed.
GLP compliance:
yes
Type of method:
buoyancy method - hydrostatic balance
Type:
relative density
Density:
1.145
Temp.:
20 °C
Remarks on result:
other: mean value of two determinations

The determined density has to be regarded as an approximate value.

Conclusions:
To test item EGGE 2806-1 a relative density of d(20,4) = 1.145 is determined.
Executive summary:

To test item EGGE 2806-1 a relative density of d(20,4) = 1.145 is determined by displacement according to OECD 109.

Description of key information

To test item EGGE 2806-1 a relative density of d(20,4) = 1.145 is determined.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Relative density at 20C:
