Reference
Endpoint:
viscosity
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
26 January 2017 to 13 July 2017
Reliability:
2 (reliable with restrictions)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study without detailed documentation
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
other: ASTM D1076-88
Version / remarks:
Equipment: Brookfield Viscometer Model DV-11 + PRO
Principles of method if other than guideline:
Procedure: 7,0 gram of the sample is weighted to thermocel-tube with spindle 18. Thermocel is set to desired temperature +40 ˚C. Viscometer power is set ON. Spindel 18 is selected and speed is adjusted 60 RPM. The thermocel-tube is capped and let to equilibrate 30 minutes before measurement. A motor of viscometer is set to ON after 30 minutes and the viscosity value is recorded after 2 minutes rotation.
GLP compliance:
no
Other quality assurance:
ISO/IEC 17025 (General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories)
Type of method:
capillary viscometer (static)
Key result
Temp.:
40°C
Parameter:
dynamic viscosity (in mPa s)
Value:
ca. 370
Conclusions:
Viscosity was determined to be 370 mPa x s (at 40 Celsius degrees)
Executive summary:

Viscosity was measured by using the method ASTM D1084 -63 at the temperature of 40 Celsius degrees. The result was 370 mPa x s.

Description of key information
