- The test was conducted according to the protocol recommended in the EFFA/EFEO guideline, "The Registration for REACH of Natural Complex Substances used as Fragrance Ingredients" to describe the state of the essential oil at several temperatures. Test substance is adequately specified. Therefore full validation applies.

- The test item is a mixture of constituents and transition from liquid to solid will not be sharp. The Guidance on information requirements and chemical safety assessment Chapter R.7a: Endpoint specific guidance from ECHA (2016) mentioned that "Melting points are not normally carried out for mixtures“. In addition, according to column 2, point 7.2 of Annex VII of REACH regulation, the study does not need to be conducted below a lower limit of -20°C“.

A test was conducted in order to determine the physical state of the substance at room temperature and -20°C during at least 24 hours at atmospheric pressure.The test item was still liquid at - 20 °C.
According to Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 (REACH) annex VII, column 2 of section 7.2, the determination of the melting / freezing point does not need to be conducted below a lower limit of - 20 °C. Therefore, no additional test was conducted and the freezing point is stated as < - 20 °C (< 253.15 K).

After a storage time of approx. 26 hours the test substance was still liquid and visual unchanged.
Therefore, no main test was performed in accordance with REACH annex VII.
Description of key information
No freezing point down to -20 °C (253.15K).

Additional information
A fully reliable experimental study, conducted according to a recognized OECD/EC method, is available. Therefore, it is considered as a key study. As no crystallisation was observed down to -20°C, the result is expressed as a limit value, and cannot be retained as key data.
According to REACH annex VII, column 2 of section 7.2, the determination of the melting/ freezing point does not need to be conducted below a lower limit of - 20 °C.
Therefore, no additional test was conducted and the melting / freezing point was expressed as a limit value.
