Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The partition coefficient: logPow ≤ -2.03 at 20 °C (OECD 107, Computational Approach).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

According to the REACH Guidance on information requirements and chemcial safety assessment - Chapter R.7a: Endpoint specific guidance, the shake-flask method is not recommended for surfactants. Instead, the slow-stirring method is advised as the preferred test method in this case.

The experimental result by means of slow-stirring method is log Pow = 0.83 (OECD 123)

However, according to the applied guideline the slow-stirring method is particularly suitable for the determination of substance with expected log Pow value of 5 and higher. Therefore the calculation of partition coefficient was performed by using a computational approach, which is cited in OECD Guideline 107 (EUA.8.). The result is more reliable compared with the experimental result.
