Description of key information

The test substance is hydrolytically stable under environmental conditions.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

As cited in the OECD SIDS Initial Assessment Report alkyl sulfates are susceptible to hydrolysis in hot alkaline and acidic media. Alkyl sulfates hydrolyze to sulfate and the corresponding alcohol. However under environmental conditions alkyl sulfates are considered to be hydrolytically stable (Kirk-Othmer, 2005; OECD SIDS, 2007)
