Additional information

As cited in the OECD SIDS Initial Assessment Report alkyl sulfates are susceptible to hydrolysis in hot alkaline and acidic media. Alkyl sulfates hydrolyze to sulfate and the corresponding alcohol. However under environmental conditions alkyl sulfates are considered to be hydrolytically stable (Kirk-Othmer, 2005; OECD SIDS, 2007)
