Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

PNECs were derived for freshwater, the STP, sediment and soil using the available endpoints. PNEC values for sediment and soil were derived by the equilibrium partitioning method (EPM). No PNECs were calculated for the marine environment, intermittent releases, air, or secondary poisoning as they were deemed unnecessary on the basis that exposure of the marine compartment and intermittent releases to surface water are not expected, no hazard to air is expected and the substance has no potential for bioaccumulation.

The PNECs are as follows:

PNECfreshwater= 0.0097 mg/L

PNECmarine water= Not calculated

PNECintermittent= Not calculated

PNECSTP= 10 mg/L

PNECsediment (freshwater) = 2.29 mg/kg dwt

PNECsediment (marine) = Not calculated

PNECair= Not calculated

PNECsoil= 0.452 mg/kg dwt

PNECsecondary poisoning= Not calculated

Conclusion on classification

The lowest available acute toxicity endpoint is the Daphnia 48 h EC50 value of 9.7 mg/L. No chronic studies are available and cloquintocet acid is not rapidly degradable. Therefore the classification is Chronic 2.
