Any other information on results incl. tables

In the highest concentration, the growth rate was significantly reduced, although less than 50%. Therefore, the EC50/72h was higher than 33.8 mg/L, the NOEC was 18.8 mg/L, the LOEC 33.8 mg/L.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Validity criteria fulfilled:
yes
Conclusions:
Aldona is toxic to the green algae Selenastrum capricornutum
Executive summary:

The aquatic toxicity of aldona was studied in a algal growth inhibition test with the green algae Selenastrum capricornutum according to the test guideline OECD 201. The algae were incubated with the test compound over a period of 72 hours in 5 concentrations between 3.2 and 33.8 mg/L, measured by TOC analysis, and a control. In the highest concentration, the growth rate was significantly reduced, although less than 50%. Therefore, the EC50/72h was higher than 33.8 mg/L, the NOEC was 18.8 mg/L, the LOEC 33.8 mg/L.
