Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The mixture is partly biodegradable.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The complex mixture cyclohexane, oxidized, non-acidic by-products, distn. residues was shown to be partly biodegradable in the Manometric Respirometry Test (OECD 301 F) using non-acclimated domestic sludge. Biodegradation was between 30 and 40% after 26 days based on BOD [BASF 1997].

This result is supported by biodegradation results of the analytically determined components of the mixture. Based on studies and QSAR calculations the biodegradation potential for the known mixture components range from readily biodegradable (according to OECD criteria) to moderately biodegradable and not biodegradable.
