test mat.
Loading of aqueous phase:

Incubation duration:
72 h
Temp.:
20 °C
pH:

Details on results:
Preliminary test:
The content of test item dissolved in the water sample was 4.19 mg/L.

Main study:
No test item was detected upon ten-fold dilution. Therefore, samples were analysed undiluted, too.
Without dilution, observed signals were below the lowest calibration standard. In order to judge whether stirring time sufficed to establish the saturation equilibrium, analysed concentrations were calculated by extrapolation for the samples taken at 4, 5 and 6 days. The maximum difference (MD) after 5 and 6 days stirring was ≤ 15%. Based on these values the saturation equilibrium was considered established.

No test item was detected in the blank water mixture.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
The water solubility of the test item at 20°C was < 0.01 mg/L.
The pH of the aqueous samples was between 7.3 - 7.9.
Executive summary:

The water solubility of dichloro trifluoro methoxy dioxolane (CAS 161611-73-0) was determined using the slow-stirring flask method according to the OECD guideline 105 (1995) and in compliance with GLP guidelines.

Since, in preliminary test, the water solubility of the test item was found to be < 0.01 g/L, the slow-stirring flask method was chosen for the main study.

In the main test, no test item was detected upon ten-fold dilution therefore samples were also analysed undiluted. In spite of the analysis of undilutes samples, the observed signals were still below the lowest calibration standard (0.01 mg/L). Therefore, the water solubility of the test item at 20°C was considered to be < 0.01 mg/L. The pH of the aqueous samples ten-fold dilution was 7.3 - 7.9.
