Results and discussion

Acidity or alkalinity
Key result
Remarks on result:
not determinable because of methodological limitations

Any other information on results incl. tables

The determination of the acidity or alkalinity of the test item is performed if the pH of the test item or a 10% (w/v) dilution in water is < 4 or > 10 and if the test item is sufficiently soluble in water or acetone/water mixtures.

The pH of the undiluted test item or a 10% (w/v) dilution in water was determined to be < 4 under the conditions of this test, but the test item was not sufficiently soluble in acetone/water mixtures. Therefore, the alkalinity/acitdity test was not performed.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
The pH of the undiluted test item or a 10% (w/v) dilution in water was determined to be < 4 under the conditions of this test, but the test item was not sufficiently soluble in acetone/water mixtures. Therefore, the alkalinity/acitdity test was not performed due to methodological limitations.
Executive summary:

To determine the pH and the acidity/alkalinity of dichloro trifluoro methoxy dioxolane (CAS 161611-73-0) a test according to the OECD guidance No 122 (2013) was performed. According to OECD guidance, the test should be performed if the pH of the undiluted test item or a 10% (w/v) dilution in water was determined to be <4 or > 10 and if the test item is sufficiently soluble in water or acetone/water mixtures.

The pH of dichloro trifluoro methoxy dioxolane, undiluted test item or a 10% (w/v) dilution in water, was determined to be < 4 under the conditions of the test, however the acidity/alkalinity could not be performed as the test item was not sufficiently soluble in acetone/water mixtures.
