Description of key information

There is only data available on chronic aquatic toxicity towards algae for the test item. The acute toxicity was assessed towards Algae and Daphnia as is required in Annex VII of the REACH regulation for a 1 -10 tpa dossier.

In an OECD 202 study under static conditions over a duration of 48 hours the acute toxicity of the test item to Daphnia magna was evaluated. The test concentrations were 4.3, 9.4, 20.7, 45.5 and 100 mg/L(nominal concentrations). After 48 hours the EC50 towards Daphnia immobilization was 35 mg/L.

For the toxicity to algae an OECD 201 study is available in which the effects of the test item on the mobility of Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata was assessed. The tested concentrations were 0.32, 1.0, 3.2, 10, 32 and 100 mg/L (nominal concentrations). The stability of the test substance was assessed by measuring the actual concentration at the beginning and the end of the algae study (3 days). The measured concentrations did not differ more than 20% indicating that the substance is stable.

The ErC50 after 72 hours to algae was 12 mg/L (nominal concentration). The ErC10 (72 h) was 6.9 mg/L (nominal concentration).

Based on the available information, it can be assumed that algae are the most sensitive species.
