Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Conclusion on classification

Classification related key information

- Biodegradation: not biodegradable under test conditions (0% after 28d, OECD 301 F)

- Bioaccumulation potential: log Pow 2.94 (OECD 117)

- Aquatic acute toxicity:

Aquatic invertebrates: EC50 (48 h) Daphnia magna = 35 mg/L (nominal concentration, OECD 202)

Algae: ErC50 (72 h) Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata = 12 mg/L (nominal concentration, OECD 201)

- Aquatic chronic toxicity:

Algae: ErC10 (72 h) Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata = 6.9 mg/L (nominal concentration, OECD 201)

Classification justification according to CLP

Based on the data above, the substance is considered to be not biodegradable in the environment. Bioaccumulation can be excluded (log Pow <4).

Based on the acute data, the lowest EC50 value was observed for algae (ErC50 (72 h) = 12 mg/L), which is hence the most sensitive species. Thus, the substance should not be classified for acute aquatic hazard, as the lowest EC50 for algae is larger than the cut-off for classification of 1 mg/L.

Based on the chronic data from aquatic algae (ErC10 (72 h) = 6.9 mg/L) and the acute toxicity to daphnia (EC50 (48 h) = 35 mg/L) the substance has to be classified as “Aquatic Chronic 3” (H412) according to the Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 (CLP) and the Regulation (EU) No 1297/2014 (6th ATP).
