Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

In accordance with column 2 of REACH Annex IX, toxicity testing on terrestrial organisms is not required as direct and indirect exposure of the soil compartment is unlikely.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Waiving is considered to be justified for this endpoint. The test item is not supposed to be directly applied to soil, and indirect exposure to soil via sewage sludge is unlikely. The substance has no potential for adsorption to soils, is not bioaccumulative but considered as readily biodegradable in both aerobic and anaerobic environments. For a substance being considered as „readily biodegradable“, it can be assumed that it will be biodegraded within the STP process and as a consequence any transfer to the soil compartment is not expected. Furthermore, the test item exhibits a very low log Kow. Therefore, distribution to the soil compartment and significant direct or indirect exposure of terrestrial organisms is not expected. Hence, in accordance with column 2 of REACH Annex IX, toxicity testing on terrestrial organisms is not required.
