Description of key information

The results indicate that the EC50 is greater than the maximum solubility and the NOEC equals the maximum solubility under test conditions.
However, no statistically significant effects on growth were seen to be attributable to the presence of L-744,341. The area under the curve (AUC) and average specific growth rate (µave) in flasks containing 10 mg/L (nominal) of L-744,341 and the solvent control flasks were not statistically different.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC50 for freshwater algae:
10 mg/L
EC50 for marine water algae:
10 mg/L
EC10 or NOEC for freshwater algae:
10 mg/L
EC10 or NOEC for marine water algae:
10 mg/L

Additional information

As observed in the range finding test, the co-solvent (methanol) at 0.1 ml/L was partially inhibitory to the growth of the algae cells. However, no statistically significant effects on growth were seen to be attributable to the presence of L-744,341. The area under the curve (AUC) and average specific growth rate (µave) in flasks containing  10 mg/L (nominal) of L-744,341and the solvent control flasks were not statistically different.
