Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Description of first aid measures:

Eye Contact:     In case of contact, immediately flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. Get medical attention if irritation occurs.

Skin Contact:    Wash with soap and water. Get medical attention if irritation develops.

Inhalation:    If inhaled, remove to fresh air. If not breathing, give artificial respiration. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. Get medical attention

Ingestion:    Do NOT induce vomiting unless directed to do so by medical personnel. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Get

                     medical attention if symptoms appear.

Notes to physician:   Treat supportively and symptomatically.

Fire-fighting measures

General fire hazards:   Tests show a minimum ignition energy between 1 and 3 milliJoules. At this energy level all plant and equipment should be

grounded. Restrict the use of high resistivity materials (plastics). Precautions should be as for flammable liquids and gasses

when ignition energy is at this level.

Extinguishing media:  Use foam or all purpose dry chemicals to extinguish. This material is very toxic to aquatic organisms. Fire water contaminated                                          with this material must be contained and prevented from being discharged to any waterway, sewer or drain.

Unsuitable extinguishing media:    None known.

Advice for firefighters:

Special Fire Fighting Procedures:    Fire fighters should wear positive pressure self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) and full turnout gear.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures:   Use personal protective equipment.  Immediately contact emergency

personnel. Keep unnecessary personnel away. Follow all fire fighting

Methods and material for containment and cleaning up:       If emergency personnel are unavailable vacuum or carefully scoop up spilled materials                                                                                                                 and place in an appropriate container for disposal. Avoid creating dusty conditions and

prevent wind dispersal. Minimize contact of spilled material with soils to prevent runoff to

                                                                                                          surface waterways.

Handling and storage

Precautions for safe handling:      Avoid contact of spilled material and runoff with soil and surface waterways.

Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities:          Keep container tightly closed. Keep container in a cool, well-ventilated area

Exposure controls / personal protection

Exposure controls:

Appropiate engineering controls:   Use feasible engineering controls to minimize exposure to compound.

Individual protection measures, such as personal protective equipment:

Eye/face protection:   Safety glasses with side shields. Where the work environment or activity involves dusty conditions, mists or aerosols, wear the

appropriate goggles. Wear a faceshield or other full face protection if there is a potential for direct contact to the face with

                                      dusts, mists, or aerosols.

Skin protection:    Disposable chemical resistant gloves

Respiratory Protection:      Use an appropriate approved air-purifying respirator equipped with HEPA cartridges/canisters where there is the potential                                                for exceeding established occupational exposure limits or occupational exposure bands. When handling a compound in

solution, a cartridge/canister appropriate for the solution may also be needed. Use a positive pressure, air-supplied,

pressure demand tight fitting respirator (e.g., SCBA or airline equipped with emergency escape bottle) where there is a

potential for uncontrolled releases in excess of the respirator's capabiliites, where exposure levels are unknown or where                                                  air-purifying respirators may not provide adequate protection.

Stability and reactivity

Reactivity:   No data available.

Chemical stability:   Stable

Possibility of hazardous reactions:   Will not occur.

Conditions to avoid:   Exposure to light.

Incompatible materials:   Oxidizing/reducing agents. Strong acids/bases.

Hazardous decomposition products:   These products are carbon oxides, nitrogen oxides.

Disposal considerations

Waste treatment methods:

Disposal Methods:   Avoid contact of spilled material and runoff with soil and surface waterways. Dispose of or treat all spill residues including

contaminated soils following all applicable regulations.
