Additional information

Cinnamon Bark oil is a Natural Complex Substance, a mixture consisting of slightly soluble to soluble constituents. The volume is 1-10 tonnes/year, therefore no PNEC is derived and no Hazard assessment or PBT assessment is conducted.

Conclusion on classification

Cinnamon Bark oil is a Natural Complex Substance, a mixture consisting of slightly soluble to soluble constituents. It was shown to be readily biodegradable. 9.6% of the known constituents of Cinnamon Bark oil has an estimated log Kow > 4 and no measured data on BCF are available for Cinnamon Bark oil. The toxicity of Cinnamon Bark oil towards algae and Daphnia was experimentally established to be 8.51 and 14.2 mg/L respectively. Thus, the lowest ecotoxicity value is the 72h-ErL50 for Algae. This leads to a classification as Category Chronic 2 (H411).
