Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

For the determination of the water solubility of Tetradecylamine, two data are reported: one from (Q)SAR predictions (Kovarich, 2014) and one from an authoritative database (GESTIS, 2014).

A water solubility of 2.19 mg/l at 25°C is predicted for Tetradecylamine based on four scientifically valid models: ACD/Percepta LogS0 GALAS, ACD/Percepta Qualitative Solubility, EPISuite/WSKOWWIN (v.1.42) and EPISuite (WATERNT). Those models fulfil the characterisation criteria specified in the OECD Guidance Document on the validation of (Q)SAR models. The prediction is considered reliable with restrictions (Klimisch 2) and is used as key value for the assessment.

Besides, the predicted low water solubility is consistent with the information collected from the GESTIS Substance Database (practically insoluble; GESTIS, 2014); this literature data is considered reliable with restrictions (Klimisch 2) and is used as supporting data in the assessment.
